Key Responsibilities


Client Services

To provide a first class service to Clients through effective support of the team members in taking and carrying out instructions from clients and acting on behalf of clients to bring matters to satisfactory conclusion as well as assisting other members of the team in client related matters, drafting of simple legal documents and file management.



A team player, building strong working relationships with the direct team, the wider team and office teams.  Supervise more junior members of the team. Provide a proactive and constructive input into the team’s strategy.



Comply with policies and practices including Risk, money laundering, the Firm’s office manual and regulatory requirements external to Thrings such as the SRA Code of Practice.  Take responsibility for understanding these requirements, and promote the importance of these responsibilities to colleagues.



Understand and assist in achieving the team’s targets for fees and other financial performance indicators and ensuring accurate records are maintained. Complete billing and fee estimate tasks accurately and on time. Work proactively with the firm’s credit control team in relation to client payments, in conjunction with the team’s fee earners

Key Attributes



A level standard, with GCSE English and Maths A-C grade.


Experience and Knowledge



  • At least 12 months experience in a residential conveyancing support role.
  • Experience of delivering a Client customer focus.


Knowledge or a strong understanding of:

  • Conveyancing case management system

  • Strong client communication skills; ability to deal with clients in a professional manner, adapting style to the situation where necessary.
  • Planning and organising; multi-tasks workload driven by more than one fee earner; manages task givers expectations.
  • Time management
  • Build and maintain good relationships with Clients.
  • Address problems and seek pragmatic solutions to them
  • Able to give and receive feedback constructively
  • Numerate – with knowledge of Solicitors accounts and ability to prepare completion statements
  • Strong IT skills; adapts to information systems quickly;
  • Excellent literacy skills including drafting style, attention to detail, and accurate use of the English language
