Recruitment Brief

We are looking to recruit a candidate ranging between a 0 to 2 years PQE Solicitor with ideally high quality PI experience to join our separately branded Personal Injury team in our Swindon office.

Key Responsibilities

Client Services

To provide a proactive effective and considerate service to the Team’s clients demonstrated by effective handling of client files (under supervision) prompt attention to incoming post, emails and telephone calls and using initiative  planning and technical skills to keep the client’s case progressing in a timely and effective fashion.

Provide and record legal advice to clients in accordance with this technical area of specialism; and maintaining regular liaison with clients, colleagues/Client Partner and any relevant professionals.

Team

The work requires team work and strong working relationships to progress client’s cases and instructions and also to make the whole team an effective business unit. This will mean working with those directly involved in each client’s case and also with the wider team and colleagues in other disciplines within the firm. Where required to assist in the supervision of other members of staff in the team and engage in a proactive and constructive way to  the team’s strategy.

Regulatory

Comply proactively with the internal policies and practices set out in the office manual and also the regulatory requirements applicable to both to individuals and firms including (but not limited to) the SRA Code of Practice.  Take responsibility for understanding these requirements, and promote the importance of these responsibilities to colleagues.

Targets

To take individual responsibility to understand and achieve performance targets set for the team including accurate full time recording (both chargeable and non chargeable). Work proactively to manage and progress the financial elements of client’s cases, in accordance with budgets and the firm’s credit control team.

Business Development

Plan and engage in targeted business development activities to obtain appropriate work from new clients as part of the Team. Build networks of client referrers, understand the market place both locally and regionally. Build a strong understanding of the other business areas and people within the firm for effective internal referrals.

Understanding and Learning

Take responsibility for personal professional development to no less than the minimum required level and to  ensure continued personal growth in the technical area of expertise to meet the team’s objectives. Take responsibility for the growth of others, sharing knowledge and accepting and giving feedback constructively.

Qualification

0 to 2 year PQE Solicitor - with experience of complex value PI work.

Experience and Knowledge

 

Experience:

  • Working within Personal Injury

Knowledge or a strong understanding of:

  • High value complex PI Litigation would be advantageous
  • Deputyship related work would be advantageous but not essential
