This is an important and challenging new role that will work within a dynamic, hard-working and expanding team, employed to provide a complete costs service to its clients.
To provide legal services to clients
Deliver an effective and commercially focused complete costs service to its clients including; preparing bills, statements, schedules, estimates and risk management.
Participate in effective negotiation processes, constructive commercial and cost effective advice, responsible for points of dispute and replies. To provide sound and accurate advice to clients.
Effective and accurate application of Civil Procedure Rules and SRA/CLSB Code of Conduct.
To play a supporting role to more senior team members in the marketing initiatives and business development projects, to promote the team, to maintain and develop existing client relationships and to assist with attracting/targeting new clients and referrals nationwide.
To support and contribute the implementation of the Team’s Business Plan and to achieve the goals and objectives.
To achieve billing and chargeable hours targets, to control disbursements and debt.

To fulfil the requirements of the Training Regulations set by any professional body to which you may belong, in order to improve the personal development of the Fee Earner and to provide a quality legal service.

Has an understanding about the needs of the business and the clients and be able to apply relevant costs regulations and procedures to the business objectives.

Flexible in attitude and approach to work, supporting the delivery of both individual and team demands together.
Excellent attention to detail.
Takes a sound practical and commercial approach to problem solving, judgements and decision making, ensuring the right people are included in this process.
Highly numerate and can present cost information in a clear and concise way
Can use Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint well.
Has a strong ability to learn/use financial and costs specialist IT systems.
The role will require occasional travel to client's offices.
