Recent cases:
- Mr B was employed by the MOD as an Engine Fitter at HM Dockyard, Portsmouth from the early 1940s until the 1980s. He was heavily exposed to asbestos during his early career and was even directed to chew deadly asbestos to make it more pliable. He was diagnosed with the asbestos-related disease mesothelioma in January 2011. Our team acted quickly and a six-figure settlement was swiftly secured, ensuring that Mr B has sufficient funds to pay for any care and assistance he may require in the future.
- Mr V worked with asbestos throughout the 1960s, 70s and 80s, first for a large supermarket chain, where he was exposed to asbestos dust in one of their factories, and subsequently for two other companies, performing work which involved stripping out boilers and pipe work and removing asbestos lagging. He later developed mesothelioma and passed away. The claim was eventually settled against the three different Defendants to benefit his widow for a six-figure sum.
- We secured a large settlement for a university lecturer who contracted mesothelioma from asbestos present at her place of work in the 1970s and 1980s. While she was teaching, workmen had been performing renovations and this caused asbestos dust to be disturbed and released into the atmosphere.
We have also settled cases involving secondary asbestos exposure, where wives and family members have contracted asbestos diseases after washing the clothes of relatives who have worked with asbestos.
In addition, we have also been at the forefront of highlighting the link between lung cancer and asbestos exposure, as many people do not realise that they can successfully pursue claims of this nature.
