On Sunday 27th May, partner Graeme Chisholm and solicitor James Trescothick-Martin are taking part in the BUPA 10k run in London to raise money for the charit,y Mesothelioma UK.
Mesothelioma UK provide help and support for the victims of the horrendous asbestos related cancers, mesothelioma and asbestos lung cancer. These illnesses kill an estimated 5,000 people each year in the UK alone - a staggering statistic, leaving thousands of victims and their families completely devastated.
Thrings' Industrial Disease team has strong links with Mesothelioma UK through the work they carry out on behalf of victims and their families. Graeme heads the team and has extensive experience of asbestos claims, particularly in Swindon as a result of the railway works. Both Graeme and James have first-hand experience of the devastation that asbestos diseases like mesothelioma can cause.
Graeme said of the run, "I am no runner but this is the least I can do to try and help. It is up to those in the legal profession to give of their time in many ways and we as individuals, and as a firm, are proud to be supporting Mesothelioma UK and the work they do."
Echoing his comments, James is "looking forward to taking part and raising money for a cause we readily identify with through our work helping people everyday, bringing what little comfort we can through legal means. Supporting Mesothelioma UK, its research work and the pastoral support it gives is something we are more than happy to do."
