Students prepare for Women in Property awards

Undergraduates from across the South West will gather in Bristol next week to find out the names of the two winners of the coveted National Association of Women in Property (WiP) Regional Student Awards 2015.

Second year students from UWE, Plymouth University, University of Bath, University of Gloucestershire and Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester will join regional property professionals and WiP South West committee members for the event which this year takes place at Thrings’ offices in the Paragon on 4 June.

Over the past 12 months, students reading property and construction-related subjects hoping to progress to a career in the ‘built environment’ have submitted their résumés and presented examples of their work to a panel of property industry specialists.

The panel includes Thrings’ Natalia Sokolov, chair of WiP South West, as well as directors, HR professionals and associates from DTZ, Bouygues, Stride Treglown Architects and Integral Build.

In addition to securing a cash prize, both winners will receive assistance in achieving a paid summer work placement in 2016 – with a large number being offered full time employment as a result. They will also progress to WiP’s national student awards which take place in London in September.
