We came, we saw, we held on by half a point to win!

The twice-yearly PWC Quiz has established itself as a huge fixture in the Bristol business calendar.  It's so popular that the organisers were having to turn away late entries this time and they're considering moving the event to bigger premises.  All entry fees and raffle proceeds were in aid of National Star College, which aims to enable people with disabilities realse their potential and independence through learning, transition & lifestyle services.

In front of a capacity crowd of banks, accountants, lawyers, corporate financiers etc the Thrings team dug deep into their mental archives of the arcane, the eclectic, the esoteric, and (in the case of their musical tastes) the downright questionable, to snatch victory by the slimmest of margins.  Half a point is knowing the difference between a cod and a haddock, or being able to identify the Lurpak logo at a distance.  It was close!

John Davies, Graeme Fearon, Mike Tomlin, Elaine Meyrick and Brett Lambe, all from our Commercial team, were ably assisted by Peter James of PWC.  And their prize for winning?  The chance to defend their title in July!  Time to start revising, guys...
