THRINGS AM makes networking a piece of cake

“Let them eat cake” said Marie Antoinette.

And that was exactly what they did, at the “Thrings AM” networking breakfast this week at Thrings’ Bristol office. And, not only did they eat cake, but also decorate it, under the expert tutorship of Sarah Jane Shepherd, owner of Minky Kitten Cakes.

Starting the working day decorating cup cakes may seem like a frivolous beginning, but there was plenty of networking going on during this entertaining breakfast session; 20 women from across a varied selection of business sectors set about the challenging task of creating four beautiful cup cakes and, as they did, there was fierce but friendly competition, and, above all, a relaxed atmosphere in which to business develop.

Many of the women left saying that it was one of the most interesting and certainly the most memorable networking events they had been to.

Joy Harcup, Director of Harcup Consulting said,"I've attended several traditional networking events and this really stood out as a memorable and innovative occasion. It provided an ideal opportunity to build relationships with fellow business people in a relaxed and informal atmosphere, as well as showing our creative side in cake icing design! I learnt much more than usual about the fellow guests as we talked and concentrated on the task. Highly recommended."
