Leading specialist insurance business Candid Insurance Services has secured almost 6,000 sq ft of Grade A office space in one of Britain’s most successful business parks as part of its ongoing plans for expansion in the UK.

Candid Insurance Services, which works closely with some of the country’s largest insurance brokers, providers and specialists, has signed a 10-year lease at 920 Aztec West in the north of Bristol.

Founded in 2019 following an acquisition and rebrand, and run by a 28-strong team of marketing and financial services professionals, Candid offers expertise in life insurance, mortgages and equity release to UK businesses looking to grow. It operates some of the country’s most visited insurance sites, including Polly.co.uk, Tom.co.uk and Winston.co.uk.

The company, which is directly authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority, will operate from the BREEAM ‘very good’ rated 920 Aztec West alongside its existing premises on Whiteladies Road in Clifton, Bristol.

Joshua Sargent and Matt Edwards, chief operating officer and managing director of Candid (respectively) received legal advice from commercial property lawyers at Thrings. The team was led by partner Robert Barnes, with assistance from chartered legal executive Georgia Slater. Construction associate Philip Thompson provided advice in connection with Candid’s fit-out works.

Bristol-based independent property advisors ETP Property Consultants, led by co-owner Alastair Kimpton, negotiated the lease terms on behalf of Candid.

Joshua Sargent said: “We are delighted to have secured modern, spacious office space to correspond with our plans to grow over the coming years. The building suits our ambitions, and we are confident that our team will thrive in their new environment.

“It was a pleasure to work with Robert and Georgia. They were both very helpful and ensured the process was completed much faster than anticipated.”

Robert Barnes said: “Securing high-end premises in one of Britain’s premier business parks will provide Candid and its expanding team with the additional capacity it requires to continue on its impressive growth journey.

“Thrings is very pleased to be continuing its relationship with Candid, and we wish Joshua and his colleagues well as the company builds towards even greater successes in the future in its new, strategically located offices.”

Alastair Kimpton added: “We are delighted to have secured favourable and flexible terms for Candid in one of the newest buildings at Aztec West. The office market remains buoyant,

notwithstanding Covid-19, and we are experiencing continued demand for bespoke advice from a variety of clients.”
