Thrings’ planning experts will be discussing opportunities to breathe new life back into the countryside as the firm returns to one of the sector’s most prominent annual events.

The National Rural Planning Conference organised by British Institute of Agricultural Consultants (BIAC), which has been supporting rural stakeholders adapt effectively to changing policy environments for more than 25 years, returns this year with a focus on how rural planning can be the solution and not the problem.

Returning as headline sponsors for the conference in 2025, Thrings will be contributing directly to the discussion with two of its lawyers set to take to the stage at The British Motor Museum in Warwick on Thursday, 9 October.

Harvey Davies, Environmental Consultant in the firm’s Planning and Environment team, will be chairing the second of the conferences four sessions – “Development meets turbo-charged nature” – which will look at a range of planning and natural capital matters, presenting the possibilities and challenges landowners might face.

Within this session, Ros Trotman, Partner and Head of Development of Land is set to provide a comprehensive update on planning case law, covering everything from green energy to the grey belt.
