Award-winning law firm Thrings has strengthened its private client offering with the appointment of a new partner who will lead the firm’s private client team across its seven offices.
Sonia Green joins from Moore Barlow, bringing almost three decades of experience in succession and tax law. During her career, she has built and grown private client teams across multiple offices and advises individuals, families and business owners on a wide range of succession planning, estate administration and tax matters.
Based in Thrings’ Romsey office in Hampshire, Sonia will oversee the firm’s private client team that stretches to its offices in Bristol, Bath, Swindon, London, Lydney and Ross-on-Wye, supporting clients nationwide.
A member of both the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and the Association of Lifetime Lawyers, Sonia specialises in inheritance tax and estate planning, advising individuals, families and business owners on wills, trusts, powers of attorney and estate administration. Her work includes complex matters involving vulnerable beneficiaries, blended families and planning for later-life.
Sonia is also highly experienced in advising on farming succession, supporting farmers, landowners and their families to navigate the ever-changing challenges being faced by the rural sector, helping them to protect their businesses and preserve their legacies for future generations.
Sonia joins Thrings' highly regarded private client team, which recently doubled its presence in the Chambers High Net Worth Guide and retained its ranking in the highest band available for Private Wealth Law in Somerset.
Ranked herself in the 2026 High Net Worth Guide, Sonia is described as "incredibly conscientious and client-focused", while the Legal 500 praises her for delivering "an exceptional service" through "thoughtful, clear, and constructive advice across all private client legal matters".
