Appointments strengthen Thrings’ senior management teams

Thrings has continued with its strategy of investing in staff by appointing two new partners, three senior associates and seven associates as part of the firm’s annual round of promotions.

Succession and tax expert Penny Munro, who also leads Thrings’ probate team, and Emily Prout, a dispute resolution specialist and head of the firm’s contentious probate team, join the Thrings partnership.

The appointments coincide with the promotion of two members of Thrings’ private property team - Anna Christie and Lauren Stanley – and planning specialist Fred Quartermain to the position of senior associate. Meanwhile, Georgia Slater (real estate), Lizzie King (corporate), Joanna Barr (commercial dispute resolution), Josephine Taylor (non-contentious agriculture), Rukshana Khanom (succession and tax), Joseph Watkins (corporate / banking and finance) and Richie Rees (agriculture litigation) become associates.

The promotions by Thrings – which has offices in Bristol, Bath, London, Swindon and Romsey - follow last month’s appointment of legal director Alistair Wallworth, who specialises in real estate, development, investment and property portfolio management.

The newly promoted legal experts represent a continued commitment to growth by Thrings which earlier this month was recognised by Legal 500, a world-renowned guide to law firms and solicitors in the UK.

The guide - which reviews the strengths of lawyers across the UK and recommends them based on feedback from their clients and peers - acknowledged Thrings’ expertise in a number of practice areas, as well as ranking five Thrings partners as ‘Leading Individuals’ and two as ‘Next Generation Partners’.

Simon Holdsworth, managing partner of Thrings, said: “Enabling growth and success is a key part of who we are as a firm and a key manifestation of that purpose is about nurturing and retaining the talent we already have. It is therefore extremely gratifying to see those who are committed to Thrings progress their careers.

“I would like to congratulate the new partners, senior associates, associates and Alistair on their appointments, as well as those teams and individuals who have been recognised by Legal 500. Each of them has an important role to play in ensuring clients continue to receive high-quality legal expertise which allows them to achieve their strategic objectives.”
