Farmers Weekly Business Clinic: can tenant use public footpath on neighbour’s land to access holiday home?

A public footpath running through a farmer’s land is being used by a tenant to access his holiday let.

The tenant uses the footpath to take his holidaymaker guests to the property, a converted bus.

The farmer is growing increasingly frustrated, not least because the bus can be reached via another entrance.

Writing for Farmers Weekly’s Business Clinic, partner Robert James assesses the farmer’s legal rights, and offers advice which could lead to the tenant and his guests using the footpath on a less frequent basis.
