Team Thrings completes Walk the Walk challenge

Staff walk, run and ride 100 miles during October on behalf of Samaritans.

Members of Team Thrings have overcome grey and windy mornings and dark, rainy evenings to each complete 100 miles during October and raise more than £1,000 for national charity Samaritans.

Some walked it (with or without dogs and children), others cycled it. Some completed their 100 miles indoors on treadmills and static bikes, some did it in the gym. One even did it on a horse.

But whatever the chosen mode of transport, team members rose to the challenge to complete ‘Walk the Walk’ in fine style.

And thanks to generous donations from members’ families, friends and professional colleagues, the firm’s charity committee will be making a four-figure donation to Samaritans, which provides emotional support to people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair.

What’s more, Team Thrings has been recognised by JustGiving as a top fundraiser.

Simon Holdsworth, managing partner of Thrings, says: “Congratulations to all those who took part in the #ThringsTogether challenge, and a huge thank you to those who sponsored the team and helped the firm support Samaritans.”

The 100-mile challenge coincided with this year’s World Mental Health Day, which took place on 10 October.
