Thrings Business Growth head taking talents to a regional level on Local Enterprise Partnership board

Ramona Business Growth in Swindon

Thrings Partner Ramona Derbyshire will be utilising her expertise as Head of the Business Growth towards delivering economic growth to communities in Swindon and Wiltshire as the newest director of the Local Enterprise Partnership.

Ramona joins the board of the Swindon and Wiltshire LEP (SWLEP) alongside four other new appointees, all with different focuses to help make the region “world-renowned for its convergence of innovation, entrepreneurialism and great quality of life”.

Playing to Ramona’s strengths, her attention will be towards utilising data and evidence to establishing the needs and wants of local businesses, whilst working to support innovation and investment that progress the region’s net zero and clean energy objectives.

Active since 2011, SWLEP features a range of local businesses as well as Swindon Borough and Wiltshire Councils, and representatives from the military and education sectors, with the objective of delivering sustainable economic growth.

“I can genuinely say my eyes have been opened and I have been so impressed by what the SWLEP has done in the past and its grand vision of the future,” said Ramona. “I simply didn’t know how lucky our region is to have the SWLEP’s commitment and support.

“We need to be shouting loudly about this asset and making sure that businesses of all shapes and sizes engage. If we can all work together, think what a powerhouse the region could be!”
