Thrings duo named as finalists at Hampshire Law Society Awards

top accolades at the prestigious Hampshire Law Society Awards

Two lawyers from Thrings’ Private Client team have been recognised for their outstanding work after being shortlisted for top accolades at the prestigious Hampshire Law Society Awards.

Incorporated in 1897, the Hampshire Law Society is the county’s local body representing the legal profession, providing a focal point for the public to access quality legal services, with the annual awards celebrating the success stories of Hampshire’s legal sector.

Karen Perugini, who was appointed as a Partner last year, has been named as a finalist at this year’s awards in the Lawyer of the Year category, was highlighted in her nomination for her “inspirational” leadership of the Romsey Succession and Tax team and her work to bring colleagues from across the firm together as part of the department’s senior leadership team.

With vast experience across a range of Private Client matters, Karen advises many of the firm’s high net worth clients, including in the management of complex estates and trusts. She also works regularly alongside the Thrings agriculture team to support farming clients with their succession planning and inheritance tax options.

Meanwhile, Sam Longmore has been shortlisted in the Junior Lawyer of the Year category, having qualified as a Solicitor last year and established himself as a reliable advisor to clients, also within the Succession and tax team.

Despite splitting his across several of the Thrings offices, Sam’s first experience with Thrings was as a paralegal at the office in Romsey, where he is originally from, and works closely with the Private Client team there on a range of legal matters for clients not just in Hampshire but the world over. Outside of work, he also finds time to serve as a governor for his former school in the town.

The awards will be presented during the society’s annual dinner on 10 May at the Macdonald Botley Park Hotel in Southampton.

Simon Holdsworth, Thrings Managing Partner, said: “I am proud to see both Karen and Sam shortlisted for these prestigious awards and want to congratulate them for this greatly deserved recognition. Both have cultivated outstanding reputations with their clients as trusted legal advisors and being named as finalists demonstrates the strength in depth that Thrings’ Private Client lawyers can offer.”
