Thrings’ planning team to provide legal updates for RTPI members

Thrings’ reputation for quality legal advice to the planning world has been recognised by one of the sector’s most influential bodies with the invitation to become a regular contributor to its members’ newsletter.

The firm, which is ranked for planning in both the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners directories, is set to provide legal updates to members of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) through its members publication Branchout.

With 27,000 members worldwide, the RTPI boasts more than 100 years of history in the planning world with its members in the South West representing a wide range of the leading organisations active in the sector.

Fred Quartermain, Partner in the Thrings Planning and Environment team, said: “With so much change in the planning world happening right now, practitioners from across the sector are hard pressed to stay abreast of the continual raft of amendments to legislation and a lot of responsibility falls to organisations such as the RTPI in ensuring compliance continues.

“We are delighted to have been asked to contribute to Branchout by the RTPI, an organisation that has played a big part in ensuring consistency of high standards across the industry for decades, and look forward to helping keep its members up-to-date.”

Alexis Edwards, Regional Management Board Chair of RTPI South West, added: “'Branchout is an important reference point for RTPI members in the South West and including this legal update in the publication will makes it an even more valuable resource.”
