Mary is a Partner in the firm’s Development of Land team, specialising in residential development with extensive experience in acting for clients across the sector, including housebuilders, local and national government bodies and other commercial property businesses.

Having established a wide-ranging expertise in property-based transactions, including acquisitions, disposals including to registered providers, as well as in matters related to multi-use developments, hybrid agreements and promotion agreements, Mary is well placed to advise clients in the development sector with achieving their commercial objectives.

Strategic land, option and promotion agreements

Acting for a PLC housebuilder in relation to the ongoing management and use of a large strategic site including disposals, liaising with the local authority, sales to other developers and continued acquisitions;
Acting for a local authority in relation to the disposal of a large strategic site to a developer which involved another landowner and a number of complex title issues, overages and banking structures;
Negotiating promotion agreements for promoters (both pure and hybrid) in relation to the promotion and sale of strategic sites;
Acting for a PLC developer in relation to the acquisition of a site from a government agency, who were the master developer and advising on defective title issues and solutions;
Acting for developers on disposals to registered providers both by way of turnkey and golden brick arrangements.
