THRINGS ACTS ON CROSS BORDER RE-ORGANISATION

Thrings has acted for a UHNW family on its onshoring of several million pounds of prime London residential property held in a BVI structure. Thrings worked closely with tax advisors to implement a fiscally efficient re-organisation. The Thrings corporate team was lead by Jonathan Morris and was assisted by Jack Delany and Nik Kad.

Jonathan Morris commented “With UK residential property held in offshore countries no longer being excluded property for inheritance tax purposes from 6 April 2017 we are expecting to see a number of similar transactions in the run up to this deadline.”

“We have worked on a number of cross border re-organisations for UK and overseas clients over the years and we expect this to continue as international governmental collaboration to share information increases”
