Law firm Thrings has significantly increased its presence in the Chambers and Partners legal directory with 41 rankings in the 2027 edition – including 10 new places.
Overall, the firm secured 13 team and 28 individual rankings, with two of its partners demonstrating their wide-ranging expertise by being recognised twice in the prestigious rankings.
The annual directory, which has drawn from research of law firms across the world for more than 30 years, uses the testimonies of thousands of clients to highlight the leading firms and individuals in the legal profession.
Rankings boost for Business Growth teams
Thrings’ business-focused teams feature strongly in this year’s guide with team rankings achieved in Corporate, Employment, Intellectual Property, Litigation, and Restructuring and Insolvency – as well as lawyers earning a further 11 individual rankings.
Thrings’ Head of Corpoate, Partner John Davies retains his Band 1 ranking in the South West, joined by the firm’s Head of Intellectual Property, Megan Jefferies, who not only moves up the rankings to secure a Band 1 place in Intellectual Property, but also gains a second place with a new ranking in Litigation.
In addition there are new rankings this year for Head of Banking and Finance, Partner Mike Tomlin, Corporate Partner John Richardson and Jane Henderson, Senior Associate in Thrings’ Insolvency team.
Thrings builds on its strong position in Agriculture law
Having retained its coveted Band 1 rankings in both the South West and the South, Thrings’ agriculture team has expanded its presence with its first ever ranking in the Midlands, going straight in at Band 2.
Eight lawyers, meanwhile, were ranked including top band rankings for Russell Reeves, Robert James and Mark Charter, and first-time rankings for Eve Laws and Andrew Morris, both in Band 3.
In the firm’s Planning and Environment team, Partner Fred Quartermain earns a spot in Band 3, having entered the rankings last year as Up and Coming.
Family team expands its presence
The firm’s Family law team welcomed growth this year with the South West team rising to Band 3.
Partner Sally Pike secured her second Band 1 ranking, pairing her Family law ranking in The South with another for her work in mediation.
The team completed its impressive year with a new ranking for Partner Anna Patterson, who enters the rankings as Up and Coming.
The latest rankings follow standout results in the 2027 Legal 500 directory and a second successive year of doubling its standings in the Chambers High Net Worth Guide.
Simon Holdsworth, Thrings’ Managing Partner, said: “The 2027 Chambers and Partners rankings round off a strong year for Thrings in the legal directories and it’s fantastic to see what we have achieved. This recognition is testament to the expertise of our legal teams and the dedication of our people. Congratulations to everyone that has been featured.
“We’re grateful to everyone who took the time to share their experience. It’s their feedback that underpins these rankings and, most importantly, demonstrates the trust our clients and professional network place in us and the strength of legal expertise across Thrings.”
